End Of An Era

Pudge just got traded to the Yankees (yes, the FUCKING YANKEES) for Kyle Farnsworth.

I just read about it five seconds ago and don't have a whole lot of time to write about it right now. More on this and other stuff later.

I'm kind of sad right now not gonna lie.

We traded a first ballot hall of famer...

For a guy who is still in the league because he's been in some pretty sweet fights...

Great.

Pudge is pudge still in name only, his game has been slipping and hes no longer the best defensive catcher in the MLB anymore, good but not great. Sure he has a good average, but he has no power, average RBI and he never walks, it wont be a huge loss. As for Farnsworth, hes an 8th inning guy, sub 4.00 ERA which our bull pen needs and could set the stage for Zumaya moving to a starter which Ive heard rumors of, who knows what will happen, but it is time for Inge to put on his big boy pants and play like a major leaguer defense wont be bad, but his bat needs some work.

Big kudos to Pudge for opening the door for the Tigers to real ball players, before him we couldn't even overpay somebody to come here. He was a major part in us going from horrible to an every year contender. The trade was a little bit of a reach but, understandable due to the fact that we probably were not going to sign him at the end of the season. It's a wait and see type trade.

It is now the first of september and still no new blog. WTF? The good people that read this post and used to look forward to the material daily deserve a good reason why. College football is starting and we have no commentary to look forward to. What do you expect us to do trust the a$$ wipes on tv that make the game boring? We need more juice NOW.
