Well, That Was a Doozy

Tigers win, Red Wings win, Pistons lose. Two outta three ain't bad.

And boy did the Tigers win! 19 runs? Are you kidding me guy? A win today (tied at 1 in the 4th currently) and they might consider themselves to be rolling a bit. A loss today and last night's game is a meaningless SportsCenter highlight.

The Pistons got little brother bitch slapped by the Celtics last night. Funny story about the Pistons actually. I was at Pub 13 watching the Wings with a couple of friends I randomly bumped into when some moron turned the station on the big projection screen from the Wings to the Pistons sending the bar patrons into an absolute fury. It's good to see that I'm not the only one in the world who doesn't care about the Pistons anymore.

And as for the Wings...
Complete and Utter Domination!
Samuelsson out of nowhere scores two goals, Cleary scores on a shorthanded mini breakaway, and Zetterberg scores a rub their noses in it like a puppy who just shit on the floor powerplay goal with 13 seconds left in the game. Ozzie turned aside 19 shots, 11 of them in the first period, for his second shutout in the playoffs this season.

Now, let's talk goaltender interference. Lidstrom buried a nasty wrister in the first period but the goal was waved off because of an alleged goaltender interference call on, you guessed it, Thomas Holmstrom. Now, I am all about accepting a penalty or a goal being waved off if something actually happened. This time however, nothing happened. Homer didn't do anything wrong at all unless being a hockey player is all of a sudden a penalty. Babcock said in his post game press conference, "You watched the game. Was he in the crease? That's the rule, you can't put your stick in the crease now, is it? Did they change that when I wasn't watching?" That pretty much sums up how I feel about it. If that happens to any other team though, it could potentially change the entire outcome of the game. Luckily the Wings shrugged it off, killed the penalty and then scored 4 more goals to sent the youngsters back to their hotel rooms to think about what they've done.

Game two is tomorrow night at 8 on Versus for the last time this season. Yay.

THREE WINS AWAY!!
